Coastal Science Adventures

This week, our Early Release Day Coastal Science Adventurers studied Marvelous Mammals! They learned about the characteristics of marine mammals like dolphins, whales, seals, sea lions, sea otters, walruses, and polar bears.

They created their own sound signals to use for echolocation and helped their fellow dolphins find a prey 'target' without looking. Outdoors, these scientists found out how many students it took to equal the length measurements of beluga, orca, and blue whales (15 feet up to 98 feet!). Lastly, they created cute sock whales to take home.
