24 Hours Wyeth’s World Educator Retreat

On June 27, 2022, nine teachers attended the 24 Hours in Wyeth's World Educator Retreat on Allen Island. Colby College Museum of Art organized this retreat in collaboration with Herring Gut Coastal Science Center. Teachers were able to get some much needed and well deserved rest and relaxation while out on Colby College's Island Campus. Teachers explored, hiked, and took in the breathtaking views of the very same island that once belonged to artist Andrew Wyeth and his wife Betsy. Herring Gut Coastal Science Center facilitated a session on data art where the teachers learned about science communication and created their own art using styles like data artist Jill Pelto's, to communicate important environmental issues.
